With just ten (10) days to go until the 2013 Modern Pentathlon World Cup Final gets underway in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, UIPM is pleased to reveal the final entry list for one of the most highly anticipated events of this season’s calendar. The world’s top pentathletes are all set to battle it out on one of the biggest stages of all and some scintillating action will be expected throughout the three days of competition.
Adam Marosi is king of the ride

Punching the air in delight as he recorded a perfect ride around the course, the Hungarian Olympic bronze medallist Adam Marosi, lapped up the applause of the crowd with the knowledge that he was now in the best possible position for a shot at gold with just the combined to go.

An extremely strong Men’s Final made for unpredictable results as the Czech Republic’s Michal Sedlecky came out on top in the fence and South Korea’s Jinhwa Jung finds first in the provisional leaderboard after World record holder James Cooke from Great Britain edged out his rivals in the pool.
18 nations qualify for the Men’s Final

There were bunch finishes in each of the three Men’s Qualification groups in the combined events today at World Cup #4 in Budapest, Hungary. From 80 athletes competing, 36 made it to Sunday’s Final with 18 nations set to be represented.
Marosi the dominant force so far in Group A

Hungarian poster-boy Adam Marosi, the World No.2 male pentathlete, confirmed his tag of favourite by winning the Group A fence this morning, before placing seventh in the pool, to ensure he would stat the combined event later this afternoon in pole position.
Woodbridge fastest in pool

Great Britain’s Nicholas Woodbridge glided through the water to claim first place and 1380 points with a time of 1:58:38 in the Men’s Qualification Group ‘B’ swim ahead of Egypt’s Amro El Geziry and compatriot James Cooke.
Cooke wins Group B Swim

Swimming specialist James Cooke (GBR) continued to shine in the pool by winning the swimming discipline in group B. Cooke posted a time of 1:59.12 which was 3 seconds quicker than Jiahao Han (CHN) and a massive 4 seconds of the Mexican Jorge Inzuna in 3rd. Cooke said following his swim "It's pretty cold out there.
