World Number One Adam Marosi has joined all the other big names who have safely made it through to Saturday's Final. Marosi was closely followed over the finish line by Hayato Noguchi (JPN) and Silver Medallist from World Cup #2 Justinas Kinderis (LTU). Unfortunately no other British athletes will be joining Nick Woodbridge in the fight for gold on Saturday.
Hayato Noguchi (JPN) has won the fencing event in Group A in the Men’s qualification competition with 19 victories and 5 defeats. He was closely followed by World Champion and World Number One Adam Marosi (HUN) with 2 less victories. Noguchi’s strong fence means that he will start first in the Combined Event a massive 19 seconds ahead of Marosi with Russia’s Serguei Karayakin another 27 seconds begind.
Qualifiers from Group B after the Combined Event in bold:
James Cooke (GBR) has put in a fantastic time in the swim of 1:52.83 to win the swimming event in Group B. He was miles ahead of 2nd place Tomoya Miguchi (JPN) who was a massive 7 seconds behind. Jamie Lopez (ESP) who finished 22nd in the swim will start 18 seconds ahead of World Number 2 David Svoboda in the Combined Event and Shinya Fujii who is a further 4 seconds back.
Qualifiers from Group C after the Combined Event in bold:
Jamie Lopez (ESP) has dominated at his first event of 2010 to win the fencing event in Men’s Qualification Group B with 20 victories and 5 defeats. Thomas Daniel (AUT) and Joshua Riker-Fox (CAN) were a further 4 victories begin with World Cup #1 Champion David Svoboda (CZE) a further victory back.
Dimitrios Motsios (GRE) has won the swimming event in Men’s Qualification Group A in a time of 1:58.87 to collect 1376 points. He was closely followed by the Asian pair Yunqi (CHN) and Hayato Noguchi (JPN) who are making their 2010 debut here in Medway. Group A is starting their fencing event now.
Remigiusz Golis (POL) has continued his strong swimming form from World Cup #2 to win the swimming event in Group C. Local favourite Nick Woodbridge continued from his strong fence to finish second and will go into the combined event 8 seconds ahead of Golis and 13 seconds ahead of Kasza (HUN).

Stanislau Zhurauliou (BLR) and Denis Cherkovskis (LAT) have come equal first in the fencing event in group C in the Qualification with 17 victories and 8 defeats at World Cup #3. World #3 Ondrej Polivka (CZE) has seemed to bounce back from a disappointing performance in World Cup #1 to finish 4th, equal with local hope Nick Woodbridge.
