The 2010 Biathle World Tour #5 Germany Heidenheim took place on June 12th. More than 60 athletes of 6 nations were competing in a very fair way around and in the public pool of Kösingen. 29 female competitors and 32 male athletes crossed the finish line.
It is the first time the Biathle World Tour has visited Germany. The German Modern Pentahlon Association supported the application of Heidenheimer Sportbund 1846 e.V. – Modern Pentathlon club as an experienced Biathle competition partner from the very beginning. The idea to apply for Germany as a Biathle World Tour station was born during the Biathle World Championship in Monaco. UIPM President Dr h.c. Klaus Schormann was contacted instantly by Angela Tetz and he had no doubts about the idea. Today, 8 months later, Angela is proud that this idea is going to be realised. Only 3 weeks to the competition means welcoming very soon athletes of 7 nations in the southern part of Germany.
It was the third time that Egypt had organized a stage of the Biathle World Tour, which is a circuit of 6 cities around the world. Since 2002 the Biathle World Tour has been a permanent feature of the International Union of Modern Pentathlon (UIPM) International Calendar.
