2011 Youth A World Championships

The UIPM President accompanied by his wife, the Turkish Federation President, all athletes, team leaders, officials and judges started 9 in the morning from the hotel to go on board to cross the Vosporos Channel for the annual Youth A culture and education day. This day teaches the athletes aspects outside sport such as the country's traditions, friendship, fair play and other values that embodies the heart of the Olympic Movement.

Korea capped off a fantastic Youth A World Championships by winning the gold medal in the men’s relay’s. The team of  Seong,  Jun & Lee were always in control of the deay and were rewarded with a place on top of the podium. [ Read more... ]

Running parallel to the Youth A World Championships, a International Judges and Assistant Judges was conduced by Technical Committee Member Mr. Walid Sayed.  2 days before the Championships around 30 candidates participated this seminar. All participants were introduced to the UIPM Competition Rules in both practical and theoretical ways.  This Seminar was an other step to the development of Modern Pentathlon in Turkey.

Tamara Vega (MEX) has become the new Women’s Youth A World Champion in Istanbul, Turkey after a superb combined event.

Alexsander Kukarin (RUS) has produced a fantastic combined event to become Youth A World Champion in Istanbul, Turkey. Kukarin followed in the footsteps of some of his famous Russian team mates to become the best Youth athlete in the world.

UIPM Media sat down with Youth Olympic Games Mixed Relay Champion and Bronze medallist in the Individual Event Anastaysia Spas (UKR) during the 2011 Youth A World Championships.

The stars of tommorrow put on a Pentathlon feast today as the 2011 Youth A World Championships in Istanbul kicked off where the best 17 and under Pentathlon's went head to head.

The Youth A World Championships got off to fantastic start last night with a lavish opening ceremony last night in Istanbul, Turkey. The athletes were paraded and the top Turkish officials and UIPM’s President Dr h.c. Klaus Schormann opened the Championships.

The athletes and officials were treated to some traditional Turkish dancing and other displays during the ceremony.

The action begins today with the Men’s fencing and Men's/Women's swimming.

The best young Pentathletes have arrived in Turkey for the 2011 UIPM Youth A World Championships which begins tomorrow (18 August) and ends on 21 August 2011. [ Read more... ]

The invitation for the 2011 Youth A World Championships is now ready to be downloaded. The Championships will be held for the 1^st time in Istanbul, Turkey on 18-21 August 2011. It will bring all the top Youth A boys and girls together to fight for the title of best Youth Modern Pentathlete. The athletes that competed in the Youth Olympic games in 2010 will be eager to return to elite competition after the fantastic experience in Singapore, which will assist them over the other athletes.
