Today we speak to Gintare Venckauskaite (LTU) who holds the world shooting record and also finished a very impressive 12th at the London 2012 Olympic Games:
What would it mean to you to win your first junior title?
This would mean a good end of season.
How do you think competing in London helped you for this event?
We will see after competition. If was very good experience.
Did you find it hard to regain motivation for the Junior World Championships?
I had never lost motivation to do sport.
Who do you see as your biggest threat for gold in Poland?
I just think about me and what I have to do.
How much has Laura Asadauskaite’s gold given you motivation and confidence to emulate her?
I think that Laura becoming Olympic Champion gave me more motivation and confidence.
What discipline will be key for you to win?
Does competing on the senior circuit & the Youth Olympic Games help you for these junior events and how?
These things give more experience. So they help me to concentrate and not to worry.
What have you been focusing on the most in training leading this to the Junior World Championships?
I just train as before. So I do not make something that is unique.
