The two have a long standing friendship and both were delighted at the developments of the sport and especially what the future held with the introduction of the new Modern Pentathlon stadium where spectators would be able to enjoy five disciplines from one seat.
UIPM President Dr h.c. Klaus Schormann stated, “It was fantastic to have Mr Guzman here at the event. We had some very positive talks about Modern Pentathlon and we will continue working very closely together to ensure a great show at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and its long-lasting sporting legacy.”
Rio 2016™ President Carlos Nuzman was accompanied by a big delegation that included members of the National Olympic Committee as well as Helio Mereiles Cardoso, President of the Brazilian Modern Pentathlon Association.
There was a huge media presence to watch both the Riding and Combined Events, a clear indication of the impact the sport has had in Brazil.
