In fencing, Serapinante Ieva from Lithuania finished in first position as her compatriot Serapinante Emiljay took third place. But one could sense that the experienced gained Isabella Isakesen this season, who had placed second with the epée, would stand her in good stead for her assault on the title. Emilja was fastest in the pool with the impressive time of 2:13.17. Going into the ride, Serapinajte was first overall whilst Great Britain's Alice Fitton was in silver medal position and Isabella Isaksen was in third. Isaksen riding was perfect, breezing through the course with recording a single penalty to claim a maximum 1200 points.
From there on, there was no looking back from the American teenager. From first position in the combined event, Isaksen left the field far behind her with ease, shooting very well, and running swiftly. On every lap, she increased her lead to really assert her dominance on way to a classy victory. This was Isaksen's very first international victory of her oung pentathlon career.
