The GB Youth International this year was a fiercely fought competition and whilst competed as a Youth A competition it was 2 Youth B athletes that stole the day, in the girls Eilidh Prise was leader throughout the day and crossed the finish line in first place. Current European Youth B Champion Joseph Choong also had a tremendous day again at the top of the leader board from start to finish. The timing of this competition is calculated in the calendar to give Teams and Youth Athletes the opportunity for early in the competition year that vital international experience before the major championships. Other federations also now build this into their own selection policy. It is a non profit making days competition run at minimum cost, the athletes are accommodated in very good hotel conditions, basically, arrive Friday afternoon in UK, compete all day Saturday and go home Sunday morning. No delays, no frills just a solid one day competition.
