Natalya COYLE of Ireland who recently made her first final of a World Cup at World Cup #1 stated: “The grant will enable me to get the most out of my training as it covers gym and physio expenses as well as any extra help such as nutrition. “
“I will be able to go to more competitions now. Last year I couldn't go to Senior Worlds in China as it was too expensive and when I qualified for World Cup final in Moscow I had to go alone. So this year I'm more focusing on competing rather then how worrying over money. The grant also helps with training camps as it covers costs for me to go away training, as I send this I'm in Barcelona for a week of training.”
“I think its really going to help as in Ireland as fencing is a relatively new sport the standard is quite low so training isn't very competitive so going away is really necessary and before it just wasn't feasible. Also the more competitions I get in the more experience I get!! Hopefully it can help me achieve better results and be a good promotion for Pentathlon in the sporting world and of course in Ireland.”
