In accordance to the UIPM Olympic Games Qualification rules, the top 5 finishing Asian Men & Women gained automatic qualification to the Olympic Games. However only 2 athletes from each nation can qualify, so in the case of the women’s event where China secured the top 3 positions, only the top 2 qualify and then the next best ranked athlete gets the priceless qualification for London.
In addition to the 5 Asian sports on offer, the highest placed Oceanian athlete also wins the honour of competing in London.
