Ukraine’s Pavlo Tymoshchenko was in fine form in the first event of day in the Men’s Final in Chengdu, China, with the 26-year-old Military man claiming 26 wins from 35 bouts to top the leader board with 1024 points before the swim.
Chinese tour de force in the Men’s Qualifiers

It was an impressive day for the pentathletes from China on the day of Qualification for the Men at the UIPM World Cup #3 in Chengdu with Group A seeing a one, two, three finish by the local boys and Group B being won by another of their compatriots. No one would have predicted such results early on in the day with the usual suspects dominating in the fencing and swimming events at the Pierre de Coubertin Modern Pentathlon stadium.

The Czech pair of Natalie Dianova and David Svoboda have had a flawless ride to shoot to 2nd place ahead of the combined event.
Ukrainian's too quick in the pool

Ukrainian 2011 World Champions Victoria Tereshuk and Dmytro Kirpulyanskyy have produced the fastest time in the pool in the European Championships mixed relay. The Ukrainians swam a combined time of 1:59.50 (both had to swim 100m) which was 2 seconds ahead of the Czech pair of Natalie Dianova and David Svoboda. The winners from the fencing, Paulina Struchkova and Blagoy Dimitrov representing Bulgaria were 3rd which maintains their position at the top of the leaders board heading into the riding ahead of Ukraine and the Propkopenko’s from Belarus.

The Bulgarian pair of Paulina Struchkova and Blagoy Dimitrov have used their home crowd support to their advantage and won the fencing at the 1st ever European mixed relay. The Bulgarians recorded 27 victories, 2 more than the husband and wife pair of Anastaysia & Mihail Prokopenko from Belarus and 4 more than the Ukrainian 2011 World Champions Victoria Tereshuk and Dmytro Kirpulyanskyy. Event favourites Laura Asadauskaite and Justinas Kinderis had a disappointing fence, finishing back in 7th position, 8 victories off the pace just behind the Czech pair of Natalie Dianova and David Svoboda.
