French 23-year-old Christopher Patte capped a sensational day for himself by grabbing his maiden title by winning Champion of Champions at the Al Shaqab Centre in Doha, Qatar. A quality swim was followed by a perfect ride and after starting the final event in pole, 8 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, he was simply unstoppable in the combined, never relinquishing his lead to claim a well-deserved victory.

Veterans Elena Rublevska and Deniss Cerkovskis of Latvia showed again what a great combination they make after the pair's 30 victories on the pistes and placed 17th in the pool to move up into first place with the Ride and Combined to go at the World Championships Mixed Relay.

The Hungarians dominate in men The last day of the Senior European Modern Pentathlon Championships, Drzonków 2013 has just finished. Today was the men's turn to compete and the individual winner was Adam Marosi (Hungary). The silver medal was collected by Robert Kasza (Hungary) and the bronze by Aleksander Lesun (Russia) who finished third at combined event. The Poles were 13th - Bartosz Majewski and 25th - Szymon Sta?kiewicz. Zsofia Foldhazi the 2013 European Champion. 20-year-old Hungarian Zsofia Foldhazi won the individual competition and it has been her third triumph at Modern Pentathlon European Championships Drzonków 2013. Ganna Buriak and Anastasia Spas (both Ukraine) were respectively second and third. In team rankings the winners were the British followed by Ukrainians and Germans. As far as Polish athletes are concerned: Oktawia Nowacka was 13th, Katarzyna Wojcik – 24th and Aleksandra Skarzynska – 27th. Tomorrow men will join the competition, featuring Bartosz Majewski and Szymon Staskiewicz. 18 nations qualify for the Men’s Final

There were bunch finishes in each of the three Men’s Qualification groups in the combined events today at World Cup #4 in Budapest, Hungary. From 80 athletes competing, 36 made it to Sunday’s Final with 18 nations set to be represented.
Petroni claims Group ‘A’ top spot after combined event

After winning the swim earlier today, Italy’s Pierpaolo Petroni ensured he finished the day ahead of his rivals with a haul of 4444 points in the Men’s Qualification Group ‘A’. The 25-year-old will now have high hopes of finishing on the podium in Saturday’s Final.

The 36 women that will battle it out for Junior World Championships gold have been decided, now it’s the men’s turn. 86 men made the trip to Poland, which means a daunting 3 qualification groups where only the top 12 from each group will make it through.
Woodbridge Leads Group C After Swim

Nick Woodbridge (GBR) has posted an impressive time of 1:57.08 to win the swimming in group C. The Brit, who missed out on the World Championships final last year was over 3 seconds ahead of Mateusz Gralezsky (POL) and former Youth A World Champion Jiahao Han (CHN). 2009 World Champion Adam Marosi (HUN) will be pleased with his time of 2:02.08 which leaves him in 5th position.
