NewsIsaksen win's her final ever junior event

Defending Junior World Champion Margaux Isaksen, in her final competition as a junior, brought home the gold for the United States in the NORTH AMERICAN OPEN Youth and Junior Championships held over the Thanksgiving weekend at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In the women's youth and junior categories the US swept all divisions with Naomi Ross of Denver, Colorado taking the Youth C crown, Monet Moreau of San Marcos, Texas the Youth B gold and Natalie Bowman from Lodi, California the Youth A title. This title for Isaksen caps an illustrious career as a junior Pentathlete with multiple world titles and medals to her name. In the men's open-junior division Kim Kyeong Pil of Korea took home the gold medal with Jonathan Heiniger of River Falls, Wisconsin winning the NORTH AMERICAN Youth C title, Ted Koerner of Castle Hills, Colorado the NORTHAMERICAN Youth B crown and Charlie Fernandez of Guatemala, the NORTH AMERICAN Youth A and NORTH AMERICAN Junior division gold medals.

Soto Claims Gold at the Central American and Caribbean Games

The modern pentathlon discipline of the Central American and Caribbean Games was held in the city of Guatemala and organized by the always enthusiastic Guatemalan Modern Pentathlon Federation. Four nations took part, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Panama and Mexico. The fencing event was won by Julio Benjamin of the Dominican Republic with 27 victories and 8 defeats and 1048 pentathlon points.
Young Reporters at YOG

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) today announced the list of the 29 Young Reporters who will be participating in the Young Reporters Programme for Singapore 2010 taking place between 14 and 26 August. The Young Reporters were selected by the Continental Associations of National Olympic Committees through a rigorous selection process. Representing each of the five continents, they are between the ages of 18 and 24 and are journalism students or have recently started their journalism career.
