Latvian Success in the Mixed Relay in Budapest
Wednesday, 12 May 2010 08:51Latvian Elena Rublevska and Denis Cherkovskis won the Gold medal in the Mixed Relay World Cup #4, in Budapest, Hungary. German Olympic Chamion Lena Schoneborn with experienced Sebastian Dietz took second place while South Korean pair, Yang Soo Jin and Kim Soeng Jin finished third in Monday’s competition.

Sunday, 09 May 2010 22:28Rookie Aleksander Lesun has stunned the Pentathlon world by winning his first World Cup Gold Medal at only his 2nd World Cup. Lesun easily beat Andrejus Zadneprovskis (LTU) who is 15 years his elder and World #3 David Svoboda (CZE) who won Silver and Bronze respectively. Lesun said “This is the most unbelievable feeling and I can’t believe it!”
Lesun to Start First in Combined
Sunday, 09 May 2010 16:33Russian Rookie Aleksander Lesun has a 12 second lead over his childhood hero Double Olympic Champion Andreev Moiseev (RUS) going in to Combined Event. The winner of the swimming Amro El Geziry (EGY) a further 24 seconds back and Andrejus Zadneprovskis (LTU) not far behind. Lusun managed 2nd place in the riding where nobody managed a perfect score. El Geziry Win's Swim
Sunday, 09 May 2010 13:04Amro El Geziry (EGY) has had a phenomenal swim to beat Tomoya Miguchi (JPN) and Soeng Jin Kim (KOR) by nearly 3 seconds in a time of 1:59,88. Double Olympic Champion Andrei Moiseev (RUS) was not far off the pace in 4th position with World #1 Adam Marosi (HUN) in 5th. Fencing Champion Aleksander Lesun (RUS) managed 10th position to remain at the top of the leaders board followed by Moiseev and El Geziry’s swim moved him up to 3rd going to the ride.

Sunday, 09 May 2010 10:49Russian Rookie Aleksander Lesun (RUS) has had an extraordinary finish to the fencing competition to finish with 25 victories and 9 defeats. This was 2 ahead of Double Olympic Champion Andrei Moiseev (RUS) with Mihail Prokopenko (BLR) being a further victory behind. Andrejus Zadneprovskis (LTU) who is returning from a lengthy injury lay off was 4 behind Lesun equal with early run away leader Lin Li who had a poor finish to the fence. World #1 and local favourite Adam Marosi (HUN) is still in contention for a gold medal on home soil with 18 victories and 16 defeats. Now for the swimming event.

He is closely followed by Mihail Prokopenko (BLR) and Hwonho Jung (KOR) who have only lost one bout each. World Champion Adam Marosi (HUN) is back in 16th position having only 3 wins and 4 defeats.

Women's Final Review
Saturday, 08 May 2010 21:48Lena Schoneborn (GER) showed her class by easily claiming gold at World Cup #4 in Budapest, Hungary. Schoneborn led from the start of the day to the finish, beating Amelie Caze (FRA) who won silver and the local favourite Leila Gyenesei (HUN) taking a satisfying bronze medal. Schoneborn said “this was a fantastic day for me and I am really proud to have beaten such a strong field, everything just clicked”.

Saturday, 08 May 2010 17:18Lena Shoneborn (GER) has had a perfect ride to give herself a 18 second lead over double World Champion Amelia Caze (FRA) who scored 1172 to stay in contention for the Gold Medal. The winner of the swimming Elodie Clouvel (FRA) had a terrible ride and ruined all chances of getting on the podium. British Louise Helyer will start in 3rd 43 seconds behind the leader.
