After the excitement of a record breaking 47 relay teams and 94 athletes competing in all 5 disciplines in one day the 43rd Junior World Championships has been drawn to a close in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Freyja Prentice & Lydia Rosling (GBR) have stormed to the Women’s Junior World Championships Relay gold in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Korean pair of Woojin Hwang & Soengjin Kim has led from start to become the Men’s Relay Junior World Championships title in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Hungarian pair of Sarolta Kovacs and Bence Demeter has dominated from start to finish to win the gold medal in the Mixed Relay Junior World Championships.

Before the ride it looked like the young Ukrainian pair of Spas & Buriak had the Women’s relay gold medal sewn up after winning the fencing and coming 2nd in the swim.

Korean's Let Rivals back into the Men's Relay

The Korean pair of Hwang & Kim has let their opponents back into the race to win the Men's relay gold medal by dropping 104 points in the ride.

The German pair of Dogue & Krause scored 1124 in the ride to move within 22 seconds of the Korean pair before the combined event. Aniskevich & Radziuk from Belarus are a further 8 seconds back, so will consider themselves still in the hunt for gold.

Hungarians Lead Mix Relay heading into Combined

Kovacs & Demeter has extended their lead after the riding, knocking down only 2 rails. The Hungarians are now a massive 102 points ahead of the Russians Gubaydullina & Shugarov who lost ground scoring 1080 in the ride and will start 25 seconds behind the Hungarians in the combined event.

Next back is the Chinese pair Zhang & Han and the Brits French & Myatt.

The Korean pair of Hwang / Kim have already opened up a massive lead in the Men’s relay after 2 disciplines.

Kovacs & Demeter lead the way in the Mixed Relay

The power couple of Sarolta Kovacs and Bence Demeter (HUN) have opened up a 22 point leading heading into the riding in the mixed relay.

Kovacs / Demeter have finished 2nd in the fencing with 27 victories and 1000 points and also 2nd in the swim with a combined time of 1:57.22 to be leading the strong Russian pair of Gubaydullina / Shugarov.

The Chinese pair Zhang / Han are in 3rd after winning the fencing ahead of the classy Koreans Jeong / Lee who are in 4th position.
