Saturday, 17 March 2012 14:55Amelie Caze (FRA) has made a successful return after 8 months out to win the fencing in the Women’s World Cup #2 Final.
Tereshuk Withdraws Due to Injury
Saturday, 17 March 2012 14:37World Champion Victoria Tereshuk (UKR) has withdrawn from the World Cup #2 final due to injury. The Ukrainian felt a twinge in her leg in round 10 and then withdrew from the competition in round 12.
While the other competitors will be sad to see such a top athlete withdraw, they will know that this is one less top athlete they have to beat for the gold.

Men's Qualification Shooting Statistics
Friday, 16 March 2012 22:54After all the world shooting records crashing down at World Cup #1, everyone expected the same at World Cup #2, however that did not occur.
The standout performers of the day was Lukasz Klekot (POL) who shot his first 5 shots in a super quick 8.83 seconds and world record holder again went under 9 seconds with a time of 8.97 seconds.

El Geziry Finally Makes a Final in Group C
Friday, 16 March 2012 21:44After failing to make finals since 2010, Omar El Geziry (EGY) has made the breakthrough and finished in the top 12 today. Sam Weale (GBR) and Peter Tibolya (HUN) also made up for not making the final at World Cup #1 by qualifying with relative ease. "I cant believe it, I am so happy, for the past 2 years I have started first in the combined event ad then dropped, but today I didn't."
He was joined by Zhongrong Cao (CHN), Woojin Hwang (KOR) and Hayato Noguchi (JPN) all looked impressive in making the final, as did the gold and silver medallist from World Cup #1 Ilia Frolov (RUS) and Pavlo Tymoshenko (UKR)
Amro El Geziry (EGY) who started 3rd in the combined event had server issues in the final shoot to drop out of contention as did Delf Borrmann (GER).

Kirpulyanskyy Again Misses the Final
Friday, 16 March 2012 20:13Dmytro Kirpulyanskyy (UKR) has continued his poor form from Charlotte and again has missed qualification here at World Cup #2. The Olympic qualified Ukrainian was way off the pace and finished back in 16th position.
Junior World Champion Jamie Cooke (GBR) also failed to qualify after a disappointing fence and shoot.
2010 World Champion Serguei Karyakin (RUS), World #1 Aleksander Lesun (RUS) and Nick Woodbridge (GBR) all looked in good form and qualified easy.
Pavel Iliashenko (KAZ) and Denis Cerkovskis (LAT) won the race to the finishing line to secure the last 2 qualification places.
