Modern pentathlon is about to meet a new home in America as Charlotte, North Carolina, is going to host 2012 World Cup#1 from 8 to 11 March.

A massive field of athletes is expected for World Cup #1 in Charlotte, USA on 8-11 March 2012.

The World Cup #1 Local Organizing Committee and USA Pentathlon have announced plans for the World Cup #1 Opening Ceremonies presented by US Airways to be held in The Great Hall at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

With one month to go until the 2012 season where Modern Pentathlon celebrates its centennial, it has hard not to get excited. As this is an Olympic year, attentions will be directed to XXX Olympic Games in London, Great Britain.

Charlotte, North Carolina will host the Modern Pentathlon World Cup #1 on March 8-11. Facilities for the event include the Grady Cole Center, Memorial Stadium and the Mecklenburg County Aquatic Center.

London may be calling, but before these athletes compete across the pond, they need to make a critical stop in the Queen City.
