Following the 2009 UIPM Congress in Copenhagen and  the approved motion 18a, UIPM, after detailed research and testing, decided to cooperate with « IQ Shooting – laser system » for the 2010 World Cup Final and for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

The following actions are planned:

World Cup #4 Budapest (HUN):  Two (2) Targets and 8 laser guns Steyr LP10 (8 different grips) will be demonstrated.

Athletes can try the system on  8-9 May 2010.

World Cup #5 Berlin (GER) : 12 Targets in a an organised shooting range will be available and all the guns.

• Training will be available for all athletes. 
  • Guns will be distributed for training to athletes according to the World Cup Standings and the grip size they had  chosen ( Medway – Budapest).
  • After each final the qualified athletes for the World Cup Final will be announced.
  • Nations need to confirm in Berlin the participation of the qualified athletes after the announcement.
  • Nations with more than 3 athletes qualified need to confirm in Berlin the names  of the athletes that will participate in the World Cup Final in Moscow, immediately after the announcement.
  • Guns will be distributed to all qualified athletes  according the grip size they had  chosen before ( Medway – Budapest).  The athletes can take the guns to their countries to be able to train until the World Cup Final.  Guns will be returned to UIPM in Moscow after the competitions.
  • Combined Event Tests : After Budapest UIPM will send invitation to the 10 best ranked athletes, according to World Cup standings, to participate in the Combined Event  test in Berlin.  For Women it will be scheduled on Saturday 5 June and for the Men on 6 June Sunday.  Nations will need to send a confirmation to UIPM.

MOSCOW  WC Final: The new Modern Pentathlon laser Shooting system will be used at the official Competition.  The competition will be carried out according the UIPM Rules.

UIPM strongly recommends that the Nations should send the Athletes that are highly ranked in the World Cup standings to participate in UIPM World Cup #5 in Berlin, in order to have the possibility to train with the new laser Shooting System that will be used in competition in Moscow.
