Weymouth, the host of the Olympic sailing events later this year, will be staging its 11th International Biathle. On 23rd September 2001 an International Biathle was arranged between South Africa and Great Britain which was to be repeated in 2002. 2003 brought the introduction of the Biathle World Tour and the Weymouth International Biathle became part of the Biathle World Tour.
This British round of the Biathle World Tour has been held consecutively every year since, attracting entries from as far afield as Australia, Bulgaria, Cameroon, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Holland, India, Italy, Lithuania, Monaco, Phillipines, Poland, South Africa, Sweden and Turkey.
In 2002 UIPM Secretary General, Joel Bouzou, competed at Weymouth finishing in an excellent second place in the Masters 40 class for a silver medal.
The Modern Pentathlon Association of Great Britain is looking forward to receiving entries from all Federations and, as has been the case for the last 9 years, the event will conclude with the famous Chinese Banquet at the Sea View Restaurant for all competitors, just metres from the course.
