Alexander Mordasov from city of Lugansk shone through by winning the men’s event, ahead of the city of Lvov’s Baytalyuk Sergey.
The city of Lugansk capped off a great event with resident Buryak Anna winning the women’s event. Levchenko Natalia, Potapenko Elena won silver and bronze respectively as they all aim to replicate their idol, World Champion Victoria Tereshuk who was recently crowned Ukrainian athlete of the year.

[ Read more... ]Current World Champion Victoria Tereshuk (UKR) has received the highest sporting honour in her country by being named the 2011 Ukrainian Sportswomen of the year.
The European bronze medallist best a host of stars to the award including Olympic gold medal fencer Olha Kharlan. The men’s winner was World Boxing Champion Oleksandr Usyk.
This was the 6th edition of the annual awards where famous Olympians, State officials and show-business celebrities came together for the annual celebration to honour those who made the most significant difference in Ukrainian sports.
The mother of one follows in the footsteps of Laura Asadauskaite (LTU) who was named Lithuanian athlete of the year for 2011.
Tereshuk, will be hoping to go one better in 2012 and win her first Olympic gold medal in London.
