David Svoboda (CZE) has showed his class to sprint to victory at a wet Men’s Final at World Cup #3. Svoboda outran Pavlo Tymoshchenko (UKR) and young Hwang Woojin (KOR) who both claimed a well-deserved silver and bronze respectively.
[ Read more... ]Remigiusz Golis (POL) has only knocked over one fence to start first in the combined event. European Champion David Svoboda (CZE) had a clear ride to move up to 2nd position only 9 seconds behind Golis.. Adam Marosi (HUN) had a poor ride to drop back to 8th position, however he will still like his chances of getting a medal from that position as he is only 29 seconds behind the leader . Korean Hwang Woojin (KOR) will start in 4th position 18 seconds behind Golis with the British pair of Sam Weale and Nick Woodbridge starting next.

[ Read more... ]Swim star Remigiusz Golis (POL) has won the swimming event in a wet Hungary ahead of his main rival James Cooke (GBR). Golis swam a very quick time of 1:56.22 which together with his 6th position in the fencing has catapulted him up to 1st in the competition. Nick Woodbridge who had a solid swim to finish in 3rd which moves him up to 2rd overall. Woodbridge stated after the swim: “I have been working very hard on my fencing, which has taken a bit of time off my swimming, but it is working well as had a great fence today.”
The dangerous pair of David Svoboda (CZE) and Adam Marosi (HUN) are in 3rd and 4th respectively are will be the clear favourites to take the gold with riding and the combined event to come.

[ Read more... ]European Champion David Svoboda (CZE) has won the fencing event in the men’s final with 23 victories and only 12 defeats. Svoboda said he "had never won a the fencing event before so he is very confident going into the rest of the event." Denis Cerkovskis (LAT) achieved the same results to be in a good position going into the swim. He stated he was "very happy to win, but still cautious about the combined event." Veteran Edvinas Krungolcas (LTU) was a further victory behind , and will like his chances for a medal.
Local favourite Adam Marosi (HUN) had a solid fence and is still in contention for gold finishing in 6th place only 3 places behind the leaders. He is joined by swimming speedster Remigiusz Golis (POL) who fenced amazingly and will jump to the top of the standings after swimming.
