September saw the year’s highlight competition, the Senior World Championships take place in Moscow Russia, where all the disciplines (except for swimming which was across the road) were held under one roof. Russia was treated to their favourite son, double Olympic Champion Andrei Moiseev claiming his 1st World Championships crown. Mother of 1 Victoria Tereshuk (RUS) won the Women’s title as well as the Mixed Relay gold with Dmytro Kirpulyanskyy and Hungary won both the Men’s and Women’s relay championships.
There was no rest for the junior athletes after this event as the European Junior Championships were held the following week in Poland, here the reigning Junior World Champions Bence Demeter (HUN) and Sarolta Kovacs (HUN) became the Junior European Championships. Sofia hosted the Biathle World Champions where South Africa won the title of best Biathle nation. UIPM announced the 2011 Champion of Champions event and also the 2012 competition calendar. Finally as always we follow the activities of President Schormann and Secretary Bouzou.
