Kasza just held off a fast finishing Mikhail Mitskyk (BLR) who won a well-deserved silver, after his electric fencing, which saw him top the leaders board after the first discipline.
London 2012 bronze medallist Adam Marosi (HUN) added another bronze medal to his collection, with a solid performance which he will be pleased with, after only limited training before this event.
Leila Gyenesei (HUN) showed the Hungarian selectors what they missed out on by not choosing her in the London 2012 team by dominating the women’s event.
Gyenesei’s superiority was shown, by winning by 25 seconds over the next big thing in Hungarian Modern Pentathlon Zsofia Foldhazi (HUN). Kriztina Cseh (HUN) rounded out a Hungarian trifecta, by claiming bronze.
Natalya Coyle’s (IRL) rapid rise in the senior ranks was again shown as she finished 4th, which was her highest position in an international event. Don’t be surprised, if she is on the podium at a World Cup in the next few years.
