Cao to start 1st in Combined

Zhongrong Cao (CHN) has had a solid ride to move up to 1st in the combined event. Cao will have a 14 second lead over Andrei Moiseev who showed his experience with a tough horse to keep his composure and post a score of 1160. Aleksander Lesun (RUS) who was leading after 2 events did not cope with a very restless horse and dropped back to 11th position 42 seconds behind the leader.

Cooke Smashes Swim

Jamie Cooke (GBR) has blitzed the field to easily win the swimming in a time of 1:57.68. Cooke burst ahead in the last lap to beat Asian Champion Zhongrong Cao (CHN) by over 2 seconds. This swim boosted Cooke to 3d position.

Aleksander Lesun still leads the field after managing 13 place in the swim, just ahead of Cao. Olympic Champion Andrei Moiseev moved up to 4th after a quick swim.

World #2 Aleksander Lesun (RUS) and Pavlo Kirpulyanskyy (UKR) have won the fencing discipline in the men’s final at World Cup #4. The pair both scored 24 victories, 2 ahead of double Olympic Champion Andrei Moiseev (RUS) and 3 ahead of Asian Champion Zhongrong Cao (CHN). Swimming specialist James Cooke (GBR) fenced very well in his weakest discipline finishing in 10th and will be in the top 3 after the swim.

Check out all the shooting statistics from today's Women's Final from World Cup #4. The performance of the day was Yane Marques (BRA) who spectacularly shot her 15 shots in 41.5 seconds.

Ekaterina Khuraskina (RUS) has produced an amazing combined event to win World Cup #4 at Pierre de Coubertin Modern Pentathlon Centre in Chengdu, China.

Kovacs to start 1st in Combined

Sarolta Kovacs has had a near clean ride to go into the combined event with a massive lead of 43 seconds over Adrienn Toth (HUN) who rode clean. Heather Fell (GBR) and Ekaterina Khuraskina (RUS) also  had perfect rides for the maximum points of 1200 and will start 45 and 52 seconds behind Kovacs respectively.
