Re-Live Cooke's World Record Swim on Video

Re-live Jamie Cooke's (GBR) extraordinary swim at the 2011 Modern Pentathlon European Championships which saw him smash the Modern Pentathlon swimming World Record.

Cooke swam a quick 1:49.59 to become the 1st Modern Pentathlete to swim under 1:50 over the 200 meters. This was after 2 hours of fencing, then Cooke had to do his show jumping and the a 3 km run and shoot.

On the back of this amazing swim, Cooke finished in 4th position overall.

Current Junior World Champion Sarolta Kovacs (HUN) has slashed 3 seconds off her personal best to win the swimming in the women’s final. She beat her team mate Leila Gyenesei (HUN) by over a second with Katy Burke (GBR) coming in 3rd to the thrill of the local crowd.

Toth Secures Top Place in Fence

2007 Junior World Champion Adrienn Toth (HUN) has matured on the senior stage to win the fencing discipline with 28 victories. Toth recorded 1 victory more than Olympic Champion Lena Schoneborn (GER) and 2 more than defending champion Amelie Caze (FRA) who recovered from a very poor start to finish 3rd.
