Today we speak to the young Australian sensation Chloe Espositio (AUS) who finished 7th at the 2012 London Olympic Games.
What would it mean to you to win your first junior title?
It would be very special, as Australia has never been on the podium at a world championships at any level.
How do you think competing in London helped you for this event?
It was a very good preparation comp, as I'm still learning a lot and learnt a lot from the Olympics!
Did you find it hard to regain motivation for the Junior World Championships?
No, not really, as it’s been a competition I’ve been focusing on from the beginning of this year.
Who do you see as your biggest threat for gold in Poland?
My mind.. when I compete I don't look at who is a head of me or behind me, I just worry about myself.
What discipline will be key for you to win?
Of course fencing!
Does competing on the senior circuit help you for these junior events and how?
Yes it does, as I have gained more competition experience through the world cup circuit.
What have you been focusing on the most in training leading this to the Junior World Championships?
Turning up to every training session with a determined attitude, for each discipline.
Is there more pressure on you being your last year as a junior and you wanting to finish on a high?
No, not really, I’ll just give it my best and that's all I can do.
