Winner of the fencing Mihail Prokopenko (BLR) had a disappointing swim finishing 26th, however this was still enough to keep him at the top of the leaders board going into the combined event. Prokopenko will start 1 second ahead of Omar El Geziry who finished 3rd in the fence & swim.
World #1 Aleksander Lesun (RUS) will start another 10 seconds back and Justinas Kinderis (LTU) 20 seconds behind Prokopenko.
Last year’s World Cup #1 champion Pavlo Tymoschenko (UKR) is in serious doubt of getting into the top 12 to secure his qualification for the final as he starts in 17th position 1:20 behind the Belarussian.
