Lesun Breaks World Shooting Record

If everyone thought that Anastaysia Prokopenko’s (BLR) world record of 30.4 for 15 shots was quick , you will be astounded at the time Aleksander Lesun (RUS) did in the men’s final. The World #1 competed his shooting discipline in 28.7 seconds on his way to winning the bronze medal at World Cup #1.

The Russian did not miss a shot and did his 3 series in 9.7, 9.4 and 9.7 to be the 3rd person at this World Cup to break a world record.

Woodbridge to start 1st in Combined

Nick Woodbridge (GBR) has had a fantastic ride only dropping 20 points to jump to the top of the leaders board ahead of the combined event.

Cooke fastest again in swim

Jamie Cooke (GBR) has failed to break his world record in the swim, however he still managed to finish first. The Brit looked set to break his mark he set on Friday, until he hit a wall in the last 50 meters after the the 3 hours of fencing caught up with him. Cooke swam 1:54.90 which was 2 seconds ahead of his team mate Nick Woodbridge with Olympic swimming record holder Amro El Geziry (EGY) finishing 3rd.

Winner of the fencing Mihail Prokopenko (BLR) finished back in 31st, however he still managed to keep the lead, however Woodbridge is now even on points with him.

Jianli Guo (CHN) and Ilia Frolov (RUS) both have solid swims to be 3rd and 4th respectively.

Prokopenko Win's Fencing

Mihail Prokopenko (BLR) has continued his fencing form from the qualification rounds to win the fencing in the Men’s final. The husband of bronze medallist from yesterday Anastaysia Prokopenko (BLR) scored 26 victories with Pavlo Kirpulyanskyy (UKR) 2 victories behind and 2008 World Champion Ilia Frolov (RUS) a further victory back.

Last year’s World #1 champion Pavlo Tymoschenko (UKR) is in a good position to defend his title sitting in 4tn position, 4 victories off the pace.

World #1 Aleksander Lesun (RUS) finished in an unfamiliar position for him, in 9th position, however he fared better than World #2 Adam Marosi (HUN) who is back in 16th.
