With a mixed bag of well-known names and newcomers to the series this year, it really is impossible to predict who will be on the podium. Young Brit Joseph Evans can testify as he won Bronze yesterday on his first day out on the World Cup circuit.
Nevertheless Olympic Bronze medalist and World #2 Yane Marques (BRA) made easy work of the qualifications to get through to the Final as did 20 year old former Youth World Champion Margaux Isaksen who has the added bonus of competing in front of a home crowd.
Then we have Melanie Mccann (CAN) and Leila Gyenesei (HUN) both ranked in the top 20 in the world and Natalya Coyle (IRL) who currently lies just outside of the Top 20.
Former world #1 Donata Rimsaite showed she is back on form with near flawless displays throughout qualification and Hungarians Sarolta Kovacs and Zsofia Foldhazi both have shown they are contention for podium places.
Yufei Bian (CHN) is also out to impress along with a host of young athletes from France, Great Britain and Mexico.
