With just ten (10) days to go until the 2013 Modern Pentathlon World Cup Final gets underway in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, UIPM is pleased to reveal the final entry list for one of the most highly anticipated events of this season’s calendar. The world’s top pentathletes are all set to battle it out on one of the biggest stages of all and some scintillating action will be expected throughout the three days of competition.
Surprise package Cassini triumphs in Group ‘A’ swim

Coming out of nowhere, the young Argentinean Franco Ivo Cassini made sure his peers would now remember his name after recording a time of 2:01:09 to win the event in the pool. It was an impressive performance by the teenager.
Italy’s Petroni on top in Group ‘A’ fence

After winning 25 of his bouts in the Men’s Qualification Group ‘A’, Pierpaolo Petroni found himself top of the leader board going into the afternoon swim. His 1000 points should now stand him in good stead to qualify for the Final this Saturday.
Top Stars Qualify from Group C

A host of stars were among the leading pack who easily qualified in group C. Justinas Kinderis (LTU), Andrei Moiseev (RUS) and David Svoboda (CZE) all looked in good form as they eased into the top 12.
Cooke Quickest in the Pool Again

Jamie Cooke (GBR) has again won the swimming in group A qualification. Cooke’s time was 1:57.38 which was significantly slower than his world record time at World Cup #1, but it was still over a second quicker than his teammate Nick Woodbridge. Woodbridge said: “I am still feeling the effects of World Cup #1 and the early morning swim did not affect my time. I hope to be quicker for the final.” 2010 World Champion Serguei Karyakin (RUS) finished in 3rd 5 seconds being Cooke with Jean maxence Berrou (FRA) just behind him. Men's World Championships Preview: Part 3 Hungary, Czech, Italy & France

The Paul Street boys is a famous Hungarian novel written by Ferenc Molnar and could picture the Hungarian squad. The Good Soldier Svejk is a popular Czech book, while Italian movie L’Armata Brancaleoni; both are comedies, so may not fit to picture their respective countries’ heroes, but then can show their sense of humour and picture more down to earth people, who can be extraordinary.
Gayanouski to start 1st in Group B Combined

Mikalai Gayanouski (BLR) had produced a fantastic fence to jump to the top of the leaders board in Group B. Jean maxence Berrou (FRA) sits in 2nd after a 5th place in the fence ahead of Denis Cerkovskis (LAT) and double Olympic Champion Andrei Moiseev (RUS) who is desperate to make the final. World Cup #1 Champion Pavlo Tymoschenko (UKR) is struggling back in 22nd position after and uncharacteristic poor fence. He has some wokr ahead of him to get into the top 18 for Saturday’s final.
